Conducts the legal affairs of the Head Office and branches and provides assistance in administrative and legal matters, including preventive law, thus facilitating legal processes and ensuring their security and quality. Monitors the bad debts of the bank and ensures the collection of overdue debts, first by contacting the debtors and then by taking legal action, if necessary. Performs the appraisal of immovable property that is going to be secured; obtains mortgages and pledges to secure loans; lifts mortgages. Conducts the bank’s relations with official bodies such as the Treasury, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Capital Markets Board and the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Other responsibilities of the legal department include the organization of the bank’s general meetings, procedures related to capital increases, amendments to the articles of association, share transfers and registration of authorized signatories.
