Purchasing and Technical Services The Purchasing and Technical Services Department was set up in March 2005 to create, manage and improve sources that will supply materials and services to the bank at optimum quality, cost and logistic conditions. Responsibilities of the department include the purchase of all types of products, investment goods, services and organizations, and the purchase or lease of real property. Oracle’s e-purchasing application was introduced at the end of 2005 to facilitate monitoring and reporting during the purchasing process. Employees and executives at the head office and the branches are already using several e-purchasing windows to perform purchasing tasks. In the second phase of the project, by the end of 2006, the bank plans to launch an “E-Auction” system for receiving bids in an online platform, and a “Supplier Portal” where suppliers will have access to various information sources at different detail levels. Work on the new branch concept of Finansbank was completed by the end of 2005 and the new concept was introduced in 2006. In December 2006, the number of Finansbank branches reached 309, and 99 branches were renovated in accordance with the new concept. As a result of efforts to expand the ATM network, the number of ATMs reached 762 by December 2006. |
